Our Story

The Karen Blixen Coffee Garden Estate is steeped in stories of adventure, resilience, and enduring elegance. Renowned Danish author Karen Blixen, famous for her memoir Out of Africa, lived and worked on the estate from 1917 to 1931, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire visitors worldwide. Today, the estate has been transformed into a stunning Luxury boutique hotel, offering a harmonious blend of history, luxury, and natural beauty, all just a short distance from Nairobi National Park.

We had lunch at the outdoor garden restaurant Babette The service is excellent Ambience is refreshing and nice in the outdoor seating Food is good This historical restaurant building is a gem and so well maintained

Restaurant in a historical setting with professional service. Food was ok, although already slightly cold when served and the pizza base was not really the same you would expect for example in Italy... Unfortunately we were disturbed by very loud children allowed to run freely around the garden restaurant.

We spent the whole afternoon here, forgetting about time completely. The food was fresh and delicious, chosen from a menu with a wide variety. I was surprised at how low the bill was, considering the stunning surroundings and delicious food. I'll definitely be recommending the coffee garden to all my friends. Thank you for the great food and friendly service.

The plan was to dine in, we hadn't made a reservation so decided to have a cocktail (best long Island Ave had in a long time) at the bar before we got seated (this never happened). We really wanted to try out their ribs and burgers, but we never got to. Left disappointed, but would definately try again(with reservations this time). Great atmosphere, nice outdoor space.

The service at this restaurant was wonderful! I loved how upscale the environment felt. It was also warm and welcoming. I loved the variety of bread as an appetizer. I decided to try a burger here. It had so much potential but fell short. I was asked how I would like my burger to which I replied “well done”. When I received my burger it was pink in the middle. The server saw this for himself and was super understanding and took my burger back to be cooked longer. After it had been brought back I was super excited to eat being as though everyone in my party had already finished their food. When I took my first bite I saw that the burger was still undercooked. Instead of sending it back again I decided to take it home and cook it until well done for myself. I would dine here again however I won’t be trying another burger.
